Welcome to the Transition Ministry Conference website! This website is sponsored by the Transition Ministry Officers (formerly deployment officers) of the dioceses of Bethlehem, Central New York, Central Pennsylvania, Chicago, Connecticut, East Carolina, Easton (Eastern Maryland), Eastern Michigan, Long Island, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Newark, North Carolina, Northern Indiana, Northwestern Pennsylvania, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Rochester, Southern Ohio, Southern Virginia, Southwestern Virginia, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Western Massachusetts, Western Michigan and Western New York. Its purpose is to provide information both to clergy seeking a new call and other Transition Ministry Officers as they seek to assist clergy seeking a new congregation. While on occasion the website will offer positions that are for lay professionals, at the present time this is not the principle focus of the information offered.

The information provided on the website comes directly from the transition ministry offices of the dioceses participating in the TMC. Each diocese is responsible for the information offered about the positions open in each diocese.

All contact information including names, titles, phone numbers, postal and email addresses are provided for all Transition Ministry Officers. If you are interested in applying for a position and the information indicates that a particular search committee is not yet receiving names, contact the Transition Ministry Officer about the status of the search and a possible timetable. Please pay close attention to how materials are submitted and to whom. Some dioceses provide for materials to be sent only to the Transition Ministry Officer. Other dioceses specify a search committee contact. In the latter case it is appropriate to inform the Transition Ministry Officer of your application for a position,

Increasingly, dioceses and search committees are requesting that materials (cover letter, resume and CDO) only be sent electronically. Electronic transmission of materials does in some cases reduce the time needed to transmit materials and in many searches electronic transmission has reduced the amount of paper used. Both the Church Deployment Office staff and your Transition Ministry Officer can help you in creating attachments that can be sent by email.

The time spent in seeking a new call is full of challenge and opportunity. Transition Ministry Officers are available to assist you in listening to the call of the Holy Spirit and navigating the search process. In this time of transition there is no substitute for sustaining your life of prayer and spiritual direction, remaining focused on your existing relationships of family and family, continuing your education and training and looking for the ways God is calling you to serve the congregation given to you right now.
